COMMON QUESTIONS

The things people askbefore they get in touch.

Answered the way we would answer them on the phone. If yours is not here, ask — we would rather write a new answer than give you a vague one.

GETTING STARTED

What this is, and what happens first.

What exactly do you do?+

We convert cryptoassets into fiat currency, and fiat currency into cryptoassets, for people and companies in the UK. You tell us the direction and the amount, we quote it in writing, and we carry it out once you have agreed.

Do I need an account?+

No. There is no sign-up, no app and no balance to fund. An enquiry is a message to a person, and everything after that happens by phone and email.

Am I committed to anything by enquiring?+

No. The enquiry, the conversation and the written quote all cost nothing and oblige you to nothing. You are committed when you accept a quote, and not before.

Can I speak to a person before filling anything in?+

Yes. The chat on any page starts with an assistant that takes the basics; ask for a person and it goes straight to one. You can also email enquiries@digipto.io.

How quickly do you reply?+

Usually the same working day. Enquiries sent late in the evening or at a weekend are picked up the next working day.

COST AND TIMING

What it costs and how long it takes.

How much does it cost?+

It depends on the direction, the asset, the size, the currency and the timing, so we quote your case rather than publishing one number that would be wrong for most people. You get the cost in writing before anything proceeds.

Why is there no rate card?+

Because a headline percentage is almost always the best case — the largest size, the most liquid asset, the least urgent timeline — and most enquiries do not qualify for it. Quoting you accurately is more useful than advertising a number you cannot get.

How long does a conversion take?+

It varies with the checks required and with your bank. We tell you what to expect for your specific case when we come back to you, rather than promise a headline figure that depends on things outside our control.

Are there costs on top of your quote?+

Network fees, and sometimes your own bank's charges, exist independently of us. We tell you which apply to your conversion when we quote it, so the figure you are looking at is the whole picture.

CHECKS AND PAPERWORK

What we will ask you for.

What will I need to provide?+

Photo identification and proof of address, and for larger amounts evidence of where the funds or assets came from. We tell you the full list before you start gathering anything, so it is one round rather than several.

Why do you need source of funds?+

UK anti-money-laundering rules require it above certain thresholds, and a bank receiving the proceeds will often ask the same question. Handling it up front is what stops a conversion stalling at the last step.

What happens to my documents afterwards?+

They are kept only as long as the rules require and then deleted. The page on identity checks sets out what we collect, why, and how long it is held.

Can the proceeds go to someone else's account?+

Settlement goes to an account in your own name, or your company's. If your situation is genuinely different, raise it at the enquiry stage rather than at settlement — it is a separate conversation, not an afterthought.

RISK AND SAFETY

The parts we will not soften.

Is this financial advice?+

No. We do not advise on whether to buy, sell or hold, and nothing on this site is a recommendation or an offer. You decide what you want to happen; we handle the conversion.

Could I lose money?+

Yes. Cryptoassets are high risk and their value can fall as well as rise — you could lose all of the money you put in. They are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, and you are unlikely to have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if something goes wrong.

Do you take custody of my assets?+

We set out exactly how and when your assets move, in writing, before you commit to anything. Ask and you will get a straight answer rather than a diagram.

How do I know this is not a scam?+

Fair question, and one you should ask of anyone in this market. We put the cost in writing before you commit, we never ask you to send funds to an address you have not confirmed with us, and we will never pressure you to decide on a call. If anything you receive from us does not match that, stop and contact us directly.

What do you do with my details?+

We use them to answer your enquiry. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to third parties for their own marketing. Ask us to delete them and we will.

Still have a question?

Ask it directly. You will get an answer from a person, and you are under no obligation to go any further.
